Pujie is now compatible with Wear OS 6 watches!

Change is never easy, but it's often the gateway to something better. As Wear OS evolves, so must we — and we're excited to share what that means for Pujie Watch Faces.
With Wear OS 5 and 6, Google is introducing a new, stricter system for watch faces called the Watch Face Format (WFF). It's a completely different approach that reshapes how watch faces are built and what they can do. Embracing this new standard has required us to rethink, redesign, and reengineer large parts of our app.
From January 2026, Google will no longer allow the old style of watch faces to coexist with new WFF faces in the same app. To meet this requirement — and to serve all our users in the best possible way — we're splitting Pujie into two apps:

We've put in the work to ensure Pujie stays ahead of the curve — ready for the future of Wear OS, without compromising the creative freedom that makes our platform special. To help ease the transition — and to soften the impact of any potential double purchases — both versions of the app are currently available at a very attractive price.
*) After January 2026, Google does not allow any updates to apps containing legacy watch faces anymore.
We won't pretend this transition comes without some changes. The Watch Face Format has certain limitations compared to what was possible in our old system. As a result, we had to reimagine parts of the designer and the overall experience.
For example, because all data must now be native to the watch face, our new phone app uses simulated data. We're proud to introduce our new Data Simulation Tool, which lets you test your designs with different conditions — step count, weather, date, time, and more — right from your phone.
Take a look at the video to see how it works! Or get this watch face by GF1973 here.
Because Pujie Watch Faces now uses the Watch Face Format, we have access to the same quality fitness and weather data available to all official Wear OS watch faces — and that’s definitely a step up. On top of that, WFF is designed for efficiency, which means your watch faces now run in a way that’s more battery-friendly, helping your watch last longer throughout the day.
Some features, like additional views, extra time zones, certain data tags, tap automation, Tasker variables and parts of our JavaScript functionality, are no longer supported due to the new format’s restrictions. We know these were popular, and we wish we could keep them all — but we’re making the best of what’s possible.
On the bright side, much of what you love about Pujie remains. Despite the changes introduced by the Watch Face Format, we’ve worked hard to preserve the core features that define the Pujie experience
Animations have always been part of Pujie’s DNA. In fact, when we launched the very first version back in 2014, we were already supporting smooth transitions between interactive and ambient modes — a feature ahead of its time.
We’re proud to say that animations are still very much alive in this new version! Even with the constraints of the Watch Face Format, we’ve managed to preserve those fluid transitions.
And to make the design experience even better, we’ve added a real-time animation preview right in the editor — so you can see exactly how your watch face flows as you build it. Check out the video to see it in action!
In our new version you can still find the following features:
An advanced, element-based design tool with vector graphic precision.
An open community of watch face enthousiasts sharing their designs in our watch face library.
Powerful coding with JavaScript (variables, global data, expressions)*
SVGs, Images & Icons.
Start Tasker tasks right from your wrist.
Many build in tap actions, to keep your watch faces interactive.
Flexible color automation.
*) The Watch Face Format, only supports general arithmetic operations by itself. In Pujie we managed to keep our JavaScript engine for automation. You can still use variables, and use many build in JavaScript methods, and the code is automatically converted to WFF expressions. Read more about this here.
Plus, our new app will automatically convert your existing watch faces to the new format. Some manual tweaks may be needed, but the app will guide you every step of the way, highlighting which elements need attention and how to fix them.

To make your watch faces visible in the Watch Library of the Wear OS 6+ app, simply choose Customize, then adjust and fix all the issues, and re-upload. You can maintain both a Wear OS 6+ version and a legacy version for each watch face in your library.
This is a big shift, but we see it as an opportunity to build a stronger foundation for the future — one that keeps Pujie Watch Faces vibrant, relevant, and compatible with the next generation of smartwatches.
With some new amazing watches from Samsung, an upcoming new Pixel Watch and many watches being updated to Wear OS 6 soon, we’re genuinely excited for what’s to come! And we’re here to help you make the transition with us.
Your creativity is what makes Pujie special — and we can’t wait to see what you’ll create next

Stay tuned, stay inspired, and thank you for being part of our journey!
